pI recently took a little DIY road trip back home to Louisana to add some finishing touches to a family member’s kitchen. A beautiful glass peel and stick tile backsplash was just what this kitchen needed.
You see, my stepsister’s house flooded last year in one of those once in a lifetime floods. Her house had never flooded before. Finding herself without flood insurance, the burden to rebuild her home fell on her shoulders and hers alone. At long last, the kitchen is ready for the big reveal. It is hard to believe we have been in #theTrailHouseReno for a year now and I’m finally able to share the full kitchen. I think this kitchen renovation shows that a complete gut and overhaul is not always necessary to have a beautiful, updated kitchen.

Part of me wanted to title this post something like “the amazing desk transfiguration” or “the Transformer desk”. A little over the top maybe, but when you grasp the fact that a majority of the materials used for this desk came from a headboard and footboard of an old bed, it’ll prove my point.
